Purple Up!

April is the Month of the Military Child. Why do we honor these children?”  Well, these children live through frequent moves and parent deployments in support of our country, so their sacrifices are honored during the month of April. Schools and communities offer many activities in April from children focused activities, art contests to Purple Up which will be celebrated on April 21st this year.  So give a military child a smile and a moment of recognition for the month of the military child! Honor the military child/children in your school and community!

Who is the Military Child?

Who Is the Military Child?

The military child moves a lot. The military child has to learn to make new friends for each move. The military child has to learn the rules and nuances for each new school. The military child has to learn to adapt to new environments.

The military child usually has a parent that deploys for a long period of time.

The military child has to celebrate holidays and birthdays without one of his/her parents. The military child has to learn to adjust to family life without the deployed parent and then when the parent returns.

Who is the military child? The military child is someone who learns at a very young age to adapt to the changes in life. Who is the military child? The military child is someone who should be recognized for the disadvantages and advantages he or she experiences.

April is the Month of the Military Child. Honor the military child/children in your school!

April Smiles!

Yes, we all know how a child’s smile can lighten a room and brighten a heart, and this month our children’s smiles are especially bright. April is the month of the military child! You may ask, “Why do we honor these children?”  Well, these children live through frequent moves and parent deployments in support of our country, so their sacrifices are honored during the month of April. Our schools and communities offer many activities this month from children focused activities, the Patch of Honor Contest and Purple Up which was celebrated on April 15th this year.  So give a military child a smile and a moment of recognition for the month of the military child!
